MAYUC MAYUC highly appreciate that you have chosen our services, and we will do our best to make your experience as relaxing and

safe as possible. These Terms & Conditions apply for any booking, that be a course, adventure/expeditions tour or rental.

MAYUC MAYUC observes strict health & safety procedures, however when dealing with nature there always exists an element of risk. Please be aware that both kayaking and hiking do carry a small degree of risk. Safety instructions will be given before every tour; all our guests must agree to follow these instructions.

MAYUC MAYUC and our guides cannot be held responsible for personal injury, equipment loss or damage when this is caused as a consequence of not following instructions given

MAYUC MAYUC reserve the right to make changes and adjustments to these terms and conditions without prior notification to any client. We will do our utmost to fulfill the terms that you agreed upon when booking. Cancellation policy is not changeable.

MAYUC MAYUC recommend all guests to have their own personal travel / medical insurance.

Booking and Payment

BOOKING DONE VIA E-MAIL (Rentals, Adventure Tours, Larger Groups via Agents)

Clients are required to pay 100 % in advance. This is done by card or bank transfer. (Payment by BANK´s transfer is preferred)
For all users of our secure link payment solution. For international bank transfers there will be a NOK 120 banking fee for transfers under NOK 5000. Receipt and voucher will be sent to you by e-mail after payment.
Bookings are only placed in our calendar after deposit or full payment is received.

Cancelation Policy

CANCELATIONS / ALTERATIONS BY CUSTOMER

No refunds will be given to guests who do not show up for booked activities. Every effort should be made to contact MAYUC MAYUC as soon as you become aware of a delay which could impact the activity, as we will try to work with you to resolve the issue.

Cancellations received up to 10 days prior to the date of the planned activity will result in 100% refund.
Cancellations with less than 10 days prior to the date of the planned activity are not refundable.
From any refunds we will deduct NOK 120 for international bank transfer fees.
Contact MAYUC MAYUC as soon as possible if you need to cancel or rebook an activity.
Once the tour has started there is no possibility for re-scheduling. We reckon a tour as started at the given meeting time, 10 to 15 minutes before departure. This is valid even if there is only one person booked on.
Please make sure to be in place 10 to 15 minutes before tour starts, if you are late the group may leave without you. If this occurs we will not refund or rebook your tour.
If a client knows that he/she will be late, be advised to call in well in advance and we will do our best to book you onto another tour. Be aware that any rebooking is subject to availability and not guaranteed.
To make cancellations, please send the booking confirmation by e-mail to mayuckayak@gmail.com. Please state your own and your banks name and full address, bank account number with IBAN and SWIFT / BIC codes for repayment.

CANCELATIONS / ALTERATIONS BY MAYUC KAYAK

All outdoor activities are weather dependant. In the event that the weather is unsuitable, MAYUC MAYUC will endeavor to provide suitable safe alternative locations. Customers accept that the itinerary stated in the trip details is subject to change to best suit the weather conditions on the date.
Whilst every attempt is made to ensure that the course/adventure tours takes place as advertised, MAYUC MAYUC reserve the right to cancel, where on reasonable grounds it believes that cancellation is necessary due to dangerous and/or unsuitable conditions.
If in the opinion of MAYUC MAYUC staff your fitness or competence level may compromise the safety of the trip, we reserve the right to terminate your course/adventure tours.
We endeavor to select the best locations for the activity. In the event of force majeure whereby MAYUC MAYUC is forced to cancel or terminate a course, adventure or expedition tours, we will endeavour to provide a suitable alternative, but we cannot pay compensation or accept liability for the return of fees or expenses.

Legal // Insurance

When required by the activity, MAYUC MAYUC will provide an activity orientation and safety briefing prior to the start of activity. In some cases, and for some specific activities, the customer will be required to sign a self-declaration form relinquishing MAYUC MAYUC from responsibility for accidents or damage incurred in the course or adventure/expedition tour.

MAYUC MAYUC advises that customers acquire insurance for cancellation/curtailment and for loss/damage of personal belongings and equipment for all courses and trips.
It is a condition of booking for all adventure or expeditions tours that you are covered by adequate insurance for the duration of the itinerary, and for the specific activities undertaken. The insurance must include cover for medical and emergency expenses (including repatriation), personal accident, injury, and death. Any emergency/medical expenses are the responsibility of the customer.

Your Safety

You are physically fit for the course, adventure or expedition tour that you have booked, and have informed MAYUC MAYUC of all relevant medical conditions that may affect your ability to take part in your chosen course/adventure or expedition tour.
You agree to abide by instruction/advice provided by MAYUC MAYUC instructors throughout your course, adventure or expedition tour.
Any participant under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be permitted to take part in activities. MAYUC MAYUC reserves the right to exclude any participant for safety reasons at any time; no refund will be given.
All specialist equipment required for the activity will be supplied by MAYUC MAYUC. Personal protective equipment supplied must be worn when requested by the instructor. All activities are fully risk assessed, copies are available on request.
A comprehensive group safety kit including first aid, flares, mobile phone carried by the lead instructor and available at all times.
MAYUC MAYUC does not work with unaccompanied children under 18 years of age. Accompanied children over 12 may participate in sea kayaking. Please discuss your requirements before booking.
There will always be some risk in the adventure activities that MAYUC MAYUC offer. Some of these risks might contribute to the loss or damage of your personal clothing/equipment, feelings of discomfort, fear, apprehension, or even accidental injury, illness, or trauma which in extreme but thankfully very rare cases, can be very serious. Whilst we will endeavor to minimize risk and incident, all kayaking, hiking, and camping activities are undertaken at your own risk.

WEATHER and SAFETY

Our tours and hikes are in wilderness environments and will be affected by the weather. The weather on Norway can be very variable both in temperature and in type of climate. On our tours you might experience sunshine, rain, wind, calm and a variety of temperatures on the same day. We recommend bringing warm and waterproof clothing. For multiday tours please pay close attention to the list of recommended items to bring. We reserve the right to make changes to the schedule or to cancel any tour or arrangement due to health, safety and weather conditions. We always give a safety and skills instruction before the trip starts.

Rentals

For all rentals the following statement must be agreed to:

"I hereby state that I take the full responsibility for my own safety during the rental period. I am aware that sea-kayaking, river-kayaking, inflatable-kayaking and SUP-boarding has certain risks, and I will consider these risks when I am on the water.

I will return the equipment in the same state as when I was given it. If the equipment is not returned within the rental period, or damaged in any way, MAYUC MAYUC is entitled to put down extra costs according to the delay or damage."

We will not refund payments or cancel kayak rentals if the weather conditions are unsatisfactory to customers (rain, wind, sleet, snow etc). If there is room in our schedule we may be able to rebook the rental.
Anyone interested in renting from us or signing up for a tour, should know that we exercise safety precautions in all that we do.

Renting a single kayak. Is required that you have a personal certificate from the Norwegian Paddle Association’s "Våttkort" (Wet-card), EPP2 or BCU 2STAR/Coastal Sea Kayak Award.
First time renters may be asked to take a safety course in sea kayaking
Perform a self-rescue
Attend an instructional class on wet-exit (practice release of sprayskirts) and rescue, wear a wetsuit or other appropriate protective garment.

We reserve the right to refuse services or rentals to anyone who is underage and unaccompanied, intoxicated or otherwise impaired, show signs of obviously bad judgment. Please be aware that we will not refund pre-payments to persons that have been refused rentals on any of the above grounds.

Group size

For the daily tours we have a minimum number of 2 clients and maximum 9 per guide. With a minimum 4 day advance booking we may be able to increase the maximum number of clients to 24, the number of guides will increase by 1 to 5. Children aged 12 to 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

MAYUC MAYUC strives to offer you personal service while respecting your right to privacy.

To visit our web sites you are not required to provide information about yourself or tell us who you are.
MAYUC MAYUC will only request the information necessary to respond to your requests when you wish to contact us // book a course, rent or adventure/expedition tour with us.
All your personal information submitted will be considered for the private use of MAYUC MAYUC only, for the specific program you are booking or information you are requesting exclusively. It will not be shared, rented, sold to other companies not become part of any mailing list or consumer database.
Our web sites include a Testimonial section, which reproduces the reports of clients having already traveled with us. Whenever a tourist report is filled in after one of our trips, MAYUC MAYUC considers your comments may be used in our web sites, specifying client name, program and date of visit. If you did not fill in a tourist report, MAYUC MAYUC may contact you for such purpose. To request that you not be considered for our testimonials, please contact us by letter, telephone or email at the address or phone numbers listed on our web sites, or clearly state it in your report.
Other Internet sites and services that may be linked to our web sites have separate privacy and data collection practices. Once you leave our web sites, MAYUC MAYUC has no control or responsibility over the privacy policies or data collection activities at another site.

// PHOTO and VIDEO //

When you are booking a course or adventure/expedition tour with us a photo or video may be taken by the MAYUC MAYUC group leader or an employee, a professional photographer or another passenger. We ask that any photos or video was taken, by MAYUC MAYUC group personnel or otherwise, are done so with permission and respect to the individual.

If you do not want to be included in photos or video, please let your group leader or the photographer know.

Taking a photo or video is something many people love to do, especially as a way to capture special moments. This is likely to be the reason why you may be included in visual media taken on your trip. On occasion, visual media captured by MAYUC MAYUC group leaders and employees are so good our studio team may wish to use them in our brochures or on our website for promotional purposes.
